New Headquarters – Full Mechanical Building Services
Saint-Gobain PAM (SG PAM) is a global leader in the manufacture of ductile iron pipeline systems, access covers and drainage gratings for water and utility networks.
PJ BIRD were proud to be awarded the full mechanical building services package for SG PAM’s new headquarters at Nottingham Business Park, supporting the comprehensive refurbishment of the newly acquired building.
Scope of Works
PJ BIRD were responsible for the full mechanical services design, installation and commissioning, incorporating:
- Mechanical ventilation: Design and installation of the building’s mechanical ventilation systems to provide effective air movement and fresh air throughout the refurbished headquarters.
- VRV heating and comfort cooling: Design and installation of VRV systems providing efficient heating and comfort cooling to the occupied areas.
- Public health services: Complete public health installation, including domestic water and drainage services serving the refurbished building.
- Mechanical services design: Full mechanical design and coordination of the services installation, ensuring the systems integrated effectively with the building’s architectural and operational requirements.
- Commissioning: Testing, commissioning and handover of the completed mechanical services installation.
Design & Delivery
The project involved the transformation of a newly acquired commercial building into SG PAM’s Nottingham headquarters. PJ BIRD provided a complete design-and-deliver mechanical services solution, coordinating the installation with the wider refurbishment programme and ensuring the building was provided with modern, efficient and reliable mechanical services.

The completed mechanical installation provides SG PAM with a fully refurbished and professionally serviced headquarters, incorporating efficient ventilation, heating, comfort cooling and public health systems designed to support the building’s long-term operational requirements.
