Project Description:
We were contracted to undertake the full refurbishment of the existing plant room at Strelley Health Centre, with the critical requirement of maintaining heating and hot water services throughout the works.
Due to the healthcare environment, maintaining continuity of essential services was paramount. Our works were carefully planned and delivered to ensure there was no disruption to the health centre’s operations or the services relied upon by staff and patients.
Temporary Plant Solution
To enable the existing plant room to be fully stripped out, we designed and installed a temporary plant room connected to the existing heating and hot water pipework.
This temporary arrangement allowed the health centre’s heating and hot water systems to remain operational while the refurbishment works were safely carried out within the existing plant room.
Refurbishment Works
With the temporary plant room operational, we were able to fully strip out the existing plant and replace the key mechanical and control systems, including:
- Building boilers
- Heating pumps
- Pressurisation unit
- Associated mechanical plant and equipment
- New Trend IQ5 BMS control panel
The new Trend IQ5 Building Management System (BMS) provides improved control and monitoring of the refurbished plant, supporting efficient and reliable operation of the heating and hot water systems.
Programme & Completion
The complete refurbishment was successfully delivered within a six-week programme.
Through careful planning, coordination and phased installation, we maintained essential heating and hot water services throughout the project while minimising any impact on the health centre.
The project was completed and handed over on time, meeting the requirements of the project team and client and resulting in a successful delivery and a satisfied project team.
